A Prayer Against the Corona Virus

By | 12 Mar 2020

One of the most effective ways to pray and be completely confident we are praying in agreement with the will of God is to pray Scripture verses.

Why?

Because by definition, His promises are His will, period, full stop, end of story.

The following is a prayer I felt led of the Lord to compose so my fellow Christ-followers here at Miscellaneous Ramblings and elsewhere have both an example of such a prayer as well as a situationally-relevant weapon to wield against the current corona virus pandemic.

Stand in faith, my friends!

Heavenly Father,

I humbly come before Your throne of grace to receive Your mercy and grace in this time of incredible need. I humble myself to pray and seek Your face. I join other believers in turning away from un-Christlike behaviors. I believe You are hearing from heaven to both forgive us and heal our land.

I choose to live in Your shelter and find rest in Your shadow. I declare this:

  • You alone are my refuge, my place of safety.
  • You are my God; I trust in You and You alone.
  • You rescue me from every trap and protect me from deadly disease.
  • You cover and shelter me with Your wings.
  • Your faithful promises are my armor and protection.

I choose to be unafraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow which flies in the daytime. I do not dread the disease which stalks in darkness, nor the disaster striking at midday. Though a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand are dying around me, these evils will not touch me.

Because I’ve made You my refuge and shelter, no evil will conquer me; no plague will come near my home, for You have ordered Your angels to protect me wherever I go. They will hold me up with their hands so I won’t even hurt my foot on a stone.

You have said, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.”

Thank You this weapon formed against me shall neither prosper nor succeed. Though it comes before me one way, it shall flee before me seven ways.

I unite and join my faith with other intercessors standing in the gap and making up a hedge of protection around those afflicted — whether physically, socially, politically, or economically — by the corona virus pandemic. This disease is a spawn of Satan who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy the lives and livelihoods of precious souls for whom Jesus died. Because I have humbled myself and submitted to the Most High God, I resist his evil works and command this plague to dissipate and die quickly. I roll the cares of this situation over on the Lord because He cares for me. I speak health and healing over those afflicted with by this disease, all to the glory of Jesus.

I understand none of this comes through works of righteousness I have done. I cannot earn nor do I deserve this through my successes neither am I disqualified through my failures, but only by your grace and mercy expressed through the precious Blood of Christ.

I pray all this in the mighty Name of our Lord Jesus.

So be it!

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Psalm 103:1-5 NLT

Thanks for praying!

Thanks Steve; Reminds me of a song by the great blues guitarist singer song writer Tab Benoit, “Shelter Me Lord Underneath Your Wings”. You shared that song to me years ago. Love it !
